Hipanda | Omotesando

It is when you enter Hipanda’s futuristic flagship store and are greeted with an army of tablets, featuring augmented reality experiences, that you know you are in for a treat of a different kind. Designed by Tokyo-based design and architecture office Curiosity and recently opened in spring 2019, Hipanda’s “ghost house” goes beyond the offerings of a regular fashion store, giving visitors the opportunity to interact with the brand’s famous Hipanda T-shirts and the retail space itself by walking through the store with a tablet which can trigger several augmented experiences. After checking out the eye-popping shop design on the first and second floor, with Hipanda’s signature too-cool-for-school apparel, head to the third floor to find a sleek exhibition space featuring slighlty larger scale Hipandas, one of which sits inside a transparent glass box and gets shrouded in a cloud of fog for an extra dramatic effect.

Could this be the future of retail experiences? Visit Hipanda and find out for yourself...
