Qusamura Tokyo
Qusamura is a one-of-a-kind plant shop with a mission to showcase the unique beauty of plants that possess a distinct character, described as having “good faces.” Owner Kohei Oda, who personally travels across Japan to find these extraordinary plants, pairs each one with a carefully selected pot that highlights its individuality. The shop’s name, “Qusamura,” is inspired by the places where Oda discovers these plants — places that might appear as mere clusters of grass to the untrained eye but are home to hidden beauty. The “Q” in Qusamura stands for “Question,” inviting visitors to ask, “What is this?” when encountering these intriguing plants.
A striking interior created by Suppose Design Office/ Makoto Tanijiri elevates each plant on a literal pedestal, to showcase them as art pieces rather than just mere decoration. In the basement, this concept is taken even further, where plants are individually displayed and lit in their full glory.
